Investigation of Load Capacity of High-Contact-Ratio Internal Spur Gear Drive with Arc Path of Contact

Tooth root bending stress and surface contact are two major determinants of the load carrying capacity gear drives. Generally, a high ratio has potential to enhance strength. In this paper, basic procedures methods for constructing high-contact-ratio (HCR) internal spur pair with arc path presented. The effects design modification parameters such as deflection angle, addendum coefficient on drive analyzed in detail based 2D finite-element models (FEMs). A comparison experimental analyses (FEA) stress, between HCR involute drives was conducted demonstrate advantages terms capacity. results show that appropriately increasing angle is beneficial reducing stresses. It also observed stresses pinion lower than those an one. Moreover, increases input torque.
